Computers have been around for decades now. But I still remember buying my first computer back in 1996. I wanted to resist, especially since I was in college and the computer labs were easily accessible. But I went ahead anyway and coughed up over $2500 for a brand new Pentium Gateway Desktop that had 16MB of RAM and a whopping 2 gig hard drive!! Fast forward 12 years and now you can carry around 16 gigs of flash on your keychain! By the way, does anyone remember the 486?? Read more »
love what you do

I’m a huge fan of Apple. Our family used to be loyal to Dell, but slowly over the years everything has been replaced with Macs. My wife even calls me a fanatic, of which I tell her she’s right. It’s one cult that I’m proud to be a follower of. By the way, I love my new Time Capsule! It automatically backs up my Macs everyday wirelessly and effortlessly. If I didn’t have a mortgage and 2 kids to feed, I’d probably throw down way too much for more Apple gear. Anyway, my Mac obsession is not what this post is about. It’s about loving what you do. Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church and author of “The Purpose Driven Life” has managed to invite Barack Obama and John McCain to a forum at his church on August 16. Talk about clout. But I guess if you write a book that sells over 20 million copies, you’d want his endorsement in any popular vote. Can’t imagine what kind of draw that’s going to bring on that day. Maybe I’ll see if Obama and McCain can swing by 67 Newbury St. next time they’re in Boston. I should call them now… Read more »
another way to vent
Do you ever get frustrated over something and feel like shouting, but you know you shouldn’t. Well now you can. The “Shouting Vase” can turn your screams into gentle whispers. You might think I’m kidding, but this vase is a huge hit in Japan (of all places). Or maybe you know a loud mouth in your life that could use something like this. If only they made these things for those “other” noises our bodies make.
In any case, everyone needs some sort of channel to release stress, anxiety, frustration and/or joy. For me, I’m going camping this weekend with my family and some friends. Nothing like hanging out in the woods, at one with nature and sleeping under the stars.
Oh, and if you want to buy one of these vases, at a whopping $80, just google “shouting vase.”
so what are you waiting for?
Just one more day until the iPhone 3G becomes available to the public. But my goodness, did you see HP’s new handheld (hint: it’s the picture to the right). Talk about handsome! And it’s on sale now for just $499!! Anyone want to stand in line for this one?
Ok, I’m sorry. Please pardon the sarcasm. But for all 18 people who’ve been anticipating the HP 910’s release, you gotta admit, they’re loyal customers. Or maybe HP employees who have to use them?? In any case, you have to love capitalism and free enterprise. Or else, we’d all be using these things without any choice or say. But is the freedom of choice really that good for us? Read more »
